Annular

Annular or tubular absorbers are generally manufactured from Alumina-B4C.  It is important to ensure that the distribution of the B4C within the alumina matrix is completely homogeneous.  This is to ensure a linear absorption throughout the length of the rod that the absorbers are installed in.

Lowering the percentage of B4C within the alumina makes the process of ensuring even distribution more challenging.  At Millennitek we have perfected the method controlling this and can produce products with precise distribution.  Normally measured in B10 per inch or centimeter, we can ensure that your specification can be met and our continuous production will keep product quality on target.

Annular pellets can also be manufactured from alternate materials.  We develop spray dried powder that flows easily into the die cavity.  This type of control is key when manufacturing pellets to exact densities if pressing to defined stops or length if pressing to pressure.
