Manufacturing
MillenniTEK is dedicated to producing customized components for a variety of industries, with a special focus oxide, boride and carbide ceramics required by the nuclear energy sector. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility using NQA-1 quality systems is equipped to support complex design engineering, conduct materials testing, produce custom press tooling, and use state of the art diamond grinding equipment to ensure unparalleled precision and process reliability for every project.
Our manufacturing process involves compacting, sintering, and grinding extremely hard and abrasive powdered materials such as alumina, B4C, and tungsten-B4C. Our press tooling is manufactured in-house using ceramic inserts, press fitted into die bodies. We use computer aided design to create custom forming tools for processing powders at high pressures utilizing rapid pressing cycle times and efficient ejection methods. We design and manufacture our tooling optimizing for both productivity and product quality for making our ceramic and refractory products. Our decades of experience designing tooling results in high production yields, consistent component weights absent of cracks and void defects.
We implement ceramic inserts in our tooling to provide longer service life and rapid changeover times using our many years of ceramic tooling design experience. A variety of punch tips manufactured from different materials can also be manufactured.
Complicated tooling shapes can be achieved by wire EDM processing, CNC machining, followed by the appropriate heat treatment or coating processes. We also have extensive precision diamond grind and polishing capabilities in-house.
Fast and Reliable service
We are vertically integrated for manufacturing a variety of ceramics at our large faculty in Knoxville Tennessee. Our process starts with our QC Lab qualified powders and ends at our NQA-1inspection department. Our press line located at our headquarters consists of multiple presses of increasingly larger capacity for optimum process flexibility. Our internal mold engineering and manufacturing capabilities reduce press tool cycle time, therefore enabling us to provide near net shape parts quickly and reliably. All of these capabilities at one site allows us to reliably deliver high quality products on time.
Skilled Manufacturer
Our many years of hot-pressing tooling and processing experience can be leveraged to produce tooling and molds that work correctly the first time.
