MillenniTEK manufactures and supplies Boron Carbide neutron absorbers for use in nuclear reactors world-wide. We are a NQA-1 certified supplier, manufacturing to 10 CFR 50 Appendix B quality assurance criteria.
The most common material used is Nuclear grade Boron Carbide. We fabricate components to various shapes and sizes to meet our customer requirements. The shapes can be either solid or hollow and density can be controlled within the manufacturing process. In some cases we can near net shape the parts in the forming process.
Our key objective is to deliver conforming materials, on time with zero defects. Utilizing the latest laser measuring equipment and techniques, we ensure in specification, high tolerance dimensions, densities and B10 concentrations. Our in-process inspection procedures ensure that pellet production is monitored “on-the-fly” enabling our team to take immediate action should an issue arise.
We have adapted six sigma and lean manufacturing methods and have implemented a continuous improvement environment to ensure we service our customers with maximum efficiency.
We are considered a world class supplier of Safety Related Nuclear Components and are proud of the fact that we have never had any products rejected by the customer. Our manufacturing yields run consistently high and we have an excellent safety rating. Other materials that we manufacture for use in reactors are Alumina, Alumina/B4C composite and Enriched B4C.
